So I considered one of the expensive brush cleaners from the art store, but tried this out instead.
Get a wide mouth glass jar (I have a mason jar) and put coiled soldering metal in the bottom. It gets in between the bristles but doesn't tear them up! Hoorah!! Soldering metal is really soft metal that plumbers and welders use on pipes. It's at Lowe's or Home Depot- You can get it in different thicknesses too depending on the size brushes you use. It worked WAAAAAAAAY better than my previous contraption.
Hope this helps some of you who like to save money and not fall for fancy marketing of art supplies.
